Is it possible to pursue MBBS without NEET?

No. Without NEET MBBS admission is not possible, in India as well as abroad. To pursue MBBS in India, you must qualify NEET. Further, without NEET, you will not be able to get admission to any foreign medical university, which is approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI).

Why should I apply only to MCI-Approved Medical University?

If a medical university is not approved by the Medical Council of India, medical degree issued by such university is not recognized in India and therefore has no value in India.

To get a medical practice certificate and become a qualified doctor in India, you need to complete your medical graduation from an MCI-Approved medical university and also qualify the medical licensing examination, if applicable.

I could not qualify NEET this year. Should I wait for another year to get MBBS Admission?

No. You can enroll in the Pre-Medical Program until your NEET is qualified. Pre-Medical Program is the prelude program to MD Program (equivalent to MBBS) and takes one year to complete. Pre-Medical Program syllabus can also help you prepare better for NEET.

So, while you can’t get Admission in MBBS without NEET, you can join the Pre-Medical Program without NEET. In one year, you can complete the first phase of the medical program, i.e. Pre-Medical Program, and also qualify your NEET. Once you qualify NEET as well as to Pre-Medical Program, you can get direct admission to MCI-Approved 4-Year MD Program (equivalent to MBBS).

What are the countries offering MBBS without NEET?

No legitimate medical university in any country will accept your application for admission to MBBS if you have not qualified NEET. If any person/ organization is offering you MBBS admission without NEET, you better check their credentials!

Without NEET, you can complete only the Pre-Medical Program. To move to the next levels of medicine (i.e., 2-Year Basic Sciences Program and 2-Year Clinical Sciences Program, that constitute the MD Program), you must be NEET Qualified.
